Liz Wallace Story

Unveiled by my own personal weight loss journey is my certified experience with health coaching and energetic healing (through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and The Soul Awakening Method). As somebody who overcame and conquered a life that was overwhelmed with fear I invite you to come on this journey of joy and hope with me and together we will follow our beacon to health.

I thought the root cause for my depression was my obesity, but that was false. It was because I was living an unbalanced life. As a young child I was tiny but I slowly started to gain weight through middle and high school. In high school I always wanted to lose a few pounds and became stuck in the diet cycle. Each time I started a diet, my weight would decrease but right after I stopped, it would increase to even more than it was before. My weight became my identity.

I would wake up and wish my “extra” weight was gone, but I’m not a magician. I struggled internally and believed I had to do this on my own without support from others. I’m a chemist and at times couldn’t understand why diets weren’t working. I know basic facts like calories in equal calories out. Analytically this was the answer, but I still was not losing weight.  There was more to it than just counting my number of calories day in and day out.

One Sunday, I received a phone call from my sister who had her own share of challenges.  She had struggled with unexplained seizures and MS, medical issues that were not anything like mine, but she offered hope.  Over the last couple of years I had seen her transformation to a more fulfilling life and heeded her words. She no longer has the seizures or MS due to her lifestyle changes. This conversation with my sister was life changing because, for the first time in years, I saw a pathway of possibilities to a healthier me.

My second step was admitting to myself that I was addicted to sugar. It was like a light bulb went off in my head. Everybody’s first step to change comes in a different package, but change will not happen until you are ready to take those first steps and be truly honest with yourself.

My first steps to change and hope were admitting to myself I needed help and finding a non-judgmental support system.  There was and still is work to do, but my goal is now achievable.  I learned to listen to what my body needs to heal instead of simply trying to get rid of excess pounds. This approach makes a huge difference. I learned I needed to eliminate foods that were working against me and causing inflammation, brain fog, and pain. Everybody has different needs and we need to learn to listen and love our bodies in order to have optimal health.

As your health coach I will guide you along the steps to a healthier you. You don’t have to do it alone! I can give you the tools to discover balance, joy, and peace in your life.
